Welcome back race fans!
Over the past few weeks Chambers racing has been
traveling all over New Hampshire and Maine racing as
much as possible. In addition to the
Pass Outlaw
Series we have decided to race weekly at
Canaan Fair
Speedway in Canaan, NH. The
LaValley Building
Supply prostocks at Canaan provides the perfect
place for the team to grow and to gain valuable seat
time for Jimmy.
On the May 27th
we traveled the 418 mile round trip to race at
Speedway 95
in Bangor, ME for the second
Pass Outlaw Late Models Series event. We had strong
practices and finished the heat race incident free. The
night ended early for us however when an early race
incident landed the
Diesel Land machine atop the tire barriers.
The following week
we premiered in
Canaan Fair
Speedway
LaValley Building Supply prostocks with the
intentions to gain as much experience as we could. We
ran strong all day and showed we were a forced to be
reckoned with in the feature. The team was let down when
retributions from an earlier racing incident rendered
our car unable to finish the event.
The team held our
heads together and rebuilt the car for the following
Saturday night race at Canaan on June 9th.
Jimmy was racing hard for the 5th position
when he lost control of the car and spun out sending him
to the rear of the 18 car field. As he climbed back
through the ranks an altercation with the 11th
place car sent us to the rear once more. Jimmy showed
great patients at the end of the 40 lap feature and
climbed back to salvage a 6th place finish.
The following
weekend showed conflicting schedules with Canaan’s race
Saturday night and open practice for Sundays
Pass Outlaw Series race in Unity, ME was held the
same day. By missing the race at Canaan Jimmy would have
to start in the rear of the field for the next three
weeks due to handicapping rules. However by skipping
Saturdays practice in Unity we would be at a severe
disadvantage in Sundays
DNK Select 150 outlaw race. The team pulled together
and made the 107 mile trip to Canaan, NH where we
experienced a flat tire fighting for 3rd
position. We pitted and finished the race in 6th
position with a whole racecar. After loading the Hauler
we traveled 205 miles to
Unity Raceway
in Unity, ME. We had to climb through the field several
times over the course of the 100 lap battle to the
checkered. Even after a flat right front tire and a spin
out, we crossed the line in the 5th position
in this 20 car field. We later found out that the
accidents had rendered us 3 laps down and a 10th
place finish.
Prior to out last
event on Saturday June 23 we hung a new nose on the car
and unveiled a new paint scheme for the
Diesel Land
machine in a week’s time. As soon as we hit the track
Jimmy was now showing a lot of confidence in his car and
driving abilities. He piloted the car to 1st
place in the heat race showing the competitors nothing
but the American
Auto Auction logo on the rear bumper leading every
lap in the qualifier. In the feature event we led the
first half of the 40 lap race and finished in a seasons
best 2nd place.
After a strong
finish Chambers’ Racing is looking forward to our next
race. Both Pass Outlaws and Canaan speedway have next
week off, but the team is looking to other tracks for
options of racing to fill the unscheduled weekend.
